Diagnosing and Monitoring Dyspepsia
A successful differential diagnosis of dyspepsia is challenging due to the often non-specific nature of the presenting case. Most approaches seek to identify the most likely cause of symptoms but when dyspepsia is not clearly defined this adds to the challenge.

Physicians have a battery of tests at their disposal which help identify or rule out the different causes of disease, such as acid dysfunction, reflux, and infection with Helicobacter pylori, but when dyspepsia remains unresponsive to treatment, or, undiagnosed, patients are often referred to secondary care specialists for further investigation. This incurs additional healthcare costs and risks to patients.

BIOHIT HealthCare develops and supplies useful non-invasive tests to help identify disease and causes of dyspepsia that traditionally would require invasive gastroscopy to identify. Common diseases such as Atrophic Gastritis and the associated risks of Gastric Cancer can now be easily identified by a simple blood test called GastroPanel.

We also supply cutting edge tests that are used in conjunction with gastroscopy as near-patient tests enabling faster diagnosis and reporting of Helicobacter pylori and Lactase deficiency.
